Go to Senegal! I know the show already went to West Africa, but Senegal has an amazing and rich culture in food, music, dance, visual arts, spirituality, story-telling - with over a hundred different ethnicities in the country with their own unique cultures and traditions. It's very different from Ghana. I studied there last year for 4 months and the people are wonderful - beautiful, friendly, and engaging.

They pride themselves on hospitality ("teranga") above all else, its actually they're national motto - The Land of Teranga.

The dishes are made out of sauces with huge chunks of meat and vegetables cooked for hours and then poured over rice - and if you talk to anyone for more than 20 minutes they'll probably invite you in for a meal.

The best meal I had was with the family I stayed with. They killed a goat in our outdoor shower, cooked it for hours and then served it with huge vats of rice cooked with vegetables and spices. They did they're best to make sure I maintained my jaa fonday (big butt) - which literally means, "selling millet".

As long as you stay away from the more established restaurants and stick to the tents and shacks that serve the locals, you will have amazing food for about $1.50 per huge plate.

They also have huge bottles of beer for 50 cents, questionably chilled red wine, and lots of other alcohol even though the country is about 80% Muslim.

Go to Senegal! It would be an amazing show!

Though I've not traveled to Senegal, I'm familiar with several great musicians from that country. The music of Baaba Maal or the mbalax rhythms of Cheikh Lô, Ismaël Lô and Youssou N'Dour would all add to any show filmed there.

Senegal is a remarkably stable, well run country in a very unstable region of Africa. It sure seems like a "No Reservations" kind of country.
