Dear Tony,

Sure you did "India"...dining with an erstwhile Maharaja in Rajesthan and checking out the length of the native mustache, trying to figure out Cricket (kudos on trying Betki) in Kolkatta and that atrocious show about Bombay (or Mumbai if you discovered the place post 1993) where you go to Mohammad Ali Road and try Bheja and ONLY bheja is downright....well lets just say your fixers and producers really screwed you over.

Every time I hear you talk about "Sri Lankan" food it makes me cringe. Any self respecting Malayalee (i.e. everyone who speaks Malayalam which is spoken in the Southern State of Kerala in India) knows that Biriyani, or spicy Goat curry or idiappam (which were featured in your 9/7 show) are not exactly Sri Lankan.

Oh but how you would you know you never traveled an inch south of Bombay (which may I remind you again you messed up with your Bollywood trip rather than the food...and the food is good if you know where to find it).

But nothing gets my goat more than the fact that you went all the way to Kolkotta to see a cockfight and a cricket match but you never tried Indian-Chinese. If your fixers had done their work they would have told you that its this fantastic combination of Indian spices and Chinese cuisine (pretty much reduced to the use of Soy Sauce) first created by the Chinese Immigrants to India who settled in Kolkatta. It would have been a revelation...but what we got was you eating chicken by the poolside of the Taj Bengal.

Even Zimmer ventured as down south as Goa.....its a different thing that he refused to have 'golguppa' in his Delhi show but happily scarfed it down in Goa and any self respecting goan (ask Floyd Cardoz) will tell you that Gol Guppa is NOT native to Goa.

Which makes me wonder....if you can mess up India and we know you did....what stopping you from messing up your other shows. What if Zamir is from Little Odessa rather than 'Russia'???

How would we know...after all the Kolkatta is known for the chicken at Taj Bengal, Bombay is only known for starlets and Bheja fry....and Sri Lankan curry is spicier than "indian curry" since they fry the whole spices......
