I spent some years with my parents in Jar, just west of Oslo. The scenery is more than the eyes can comprehend, and the food is .....incredibly different.
Try a breakfast smorgasbord covered with local cheeses, scrambled eggs with smoked eel, pickled herring and smoked salmon. Clean the palate with a wonderful rich, carmely brown 'gjetost'..goat cheese spread on a thick slab of fresh dark rye bread. Soon, middag will be here and a table of various smorbrods (open face sandwiches ....scores of them....will beckon.

Anthony...Norway...Go eat like a Viking.

Hey Tony, go to Norway it is a beautiful country I would love to go back there someday. My Grandfather came from a small town called Ferde. Lillehammer and Olso are great places, but don't forget Bergen it has an incrediable fish market there. I hope to see a NR show on Norway.
