Its an indigenous reservation where the Ngabe tribe lives. They are very cool people who live in the high mountains of Panama. They cook over open fires, wash clothes in the river, walk for days with no shoes to buy sugar and rice, and have the most beautiful views in the country. The food...its not about the food. They really don't have any, but what they do have is coffee. Really good coffee and it has not recieved the attention that it should be getting because of its remote location. Its a great place that nobody goes to and little is known about it. I have a friend, Balbina Montezuma, who started her oun restaurant there. She is a strong woman who has enough character to fill a book and has the best atmostphere at her little bistro in all of the Comarca. You should check it out. They would be honored, not because you are Anthony Bourdain, but because you came.
