A native of Buffalo now relegated to the American South, I miss my hometown with its nose-thumbing at chain eateries in favor of its local, homestyle, ethnically diverse food culture.
Native son and television writer Tom Fontana (St. Elsewhere, Homicide:Life on the Street, OZ) would make the most fantastic tour guide, as he loves his hometown and often references Buffalo in his writing.
You already did Cleveland--why not explore this once very wealthy and still very stalwart and proud city that has beautiful landscapes, interesting people and tremendous food.

I live in the South now too but I came from WNY as well, a litte place called CITY of Tonawanda. It would take Tony a month to get through our area..there's just a million places to try...we have the best wings, steak and cheese subs, pizzas, italian food, Polish food, gosh, birch beer, gennessee beer, Ryan Soda, custard ice cream, northern pike, rainbow trout, gees, and that's only a start..man what a smorgasboard!
