Why do I want to believe that extortion of some sort was involved? Will be interesting to hear Ruhlman's take on this. God knows Tony will have enough opinion to go around. Should be fun! Smile

I know Tony's in Cleveland already (according to this morning's PD), and probably already has a set schedule... but if there's room for it, he should try and make a stop at Sterle's Slovenian Country House and/or Radell's sausage shop! I think it would be a shame to come to Cleveland, home of the largest population of Slovenians outside of Slovenia, without having a decent klobase.

(Which is different from keilbasa, thank you.)

well, so far he's been spotted at the West Side Market (www.westsidemarket.com), he had dinner on saturday at Sokolowski's University Inn (www.sokolowskis.com), bought an amish-raised pig with Ruhlman from the North Union Farmers' Market (with Ruhlman cooking said pig at his place) and dined at Michael Symon's Lola in downtown Cleveland.

Symon posted in the Cleveland Plain Dealer's weblog about the dinner:

"amuse: pickled walleye with chile oil and horseradish .. first: sturgeon poached in smoked butter with apple puree and almonds..peppermint sorbet ...second: beef cheek pierogie ... third:foie gras sausage with cheedar soup shooter and turnip kraut ... fourth: hog trio with stuffed trotter, fresh bacon, crispy ear, poached egg and truffle ... fifth:venison with pomegranite gastrique and parsnips ... sixth: baricelli cheese ... seventh: brioche french toast with bacon ice cream ... eighth: banana panna cotta with caramel ... a fun evening. tony as usual was his absolutely hilarious self and as entertaining as one human can be.."

No extortion, just a simple "I dare you." Read Ruhlman's blog.
