the spice island is amazing. turkey and morocco offer some of the best cuisine in the world and insights into modern islamic society and its many challenges in an era of rising extremism, and sonoma and napa are just plain lovely and full of off the beaten path nooks where local people work very hard to make good food and wine and to protect the working landscapes that make good food and wine possible.

I agree! I really want to see Bourdain in Morocco. Especially, Marrakech. I traveled there in college (9 years ago), and loved it. The food stalls in the Djemaa El Fna were amazing! I remember that you couldn't openly drink alcohol on the street, so if you ordered Coca Cola, you got soda, but if you ordered "Coca Cola Lite" you got red wine in a glass Coke bottle. Fes was amazing too. The people in that country were so wonderful. Anthony, please go there because it will be a looong time before I can go back!
