Okay,

So I'm a vegan who loves Anthony Bourdain. I know, I know...I'm never going to hear the end of it...and so far i've remained in the closet about my love affair with this meat eating, traveling mad man...but here I am, I'm outing myself and I'm happy to do so...

Now Mr. Bourdain...I have a proposal for you...Let's meet in NYC or city of your choice and do it vegan style. I know you've stated many times that your no friend to us veg heads...but Anthony, I want to be your friend...This crunchy, tree huggin, vegan mama, has love in her heart for you and wishes to make peace with you over yummy seitan or tasty tofu...Peace for all...Love and compassion my friend...Love and compassion!!

I've watched you squirm as animals have faced their demise on No Res., so i know you have it in your heart...i'm not here to change you my man and have no wish to cause a foodie war, this offer is an offer of peace!

Let's hit up some cool veg joints and meet some amazing vegan cooks and see what you think...I think we would have a lovely time my friend and I think your audience would dig seeing anthony's soft, cynical side.

with love,

veganmama...No Res. foodie friend!!

thanks ehhakumahee...nice to have your support and props for a good vegan meal...hello again friends...hello anthony...mi amigo. let's see, i've been doing a bit of research for you...for us...

i think we could perhaps start our day at babycakes (http://www.babycakesnyc.com/), try our hand at some vegan cinnamon buns, then make our way to moo shoes (http://www.mooshoes.com/) so i can score me a pair of cute kicks...

then off to candle cafe for a delightful lunch...first a glass or 2 or 3 of cabernet sauvignon, then maybe a mezze plate followed by seitan chimichurri and a side of yummy guacamole...then down to some serious eats...possibly quinoa crusted tempeh, seitan timbale or tuscan lasagna...if your in the mood for a burger they can even hook yah up with a grilled seitan burger...no moo's allowed...hee, hee! i of course will have to have a candle cocktail and whatever yummy chocolate treat of the day they have on hand...

now aren't you getting the least bit excited anthony or intrigued...tony...seriously and this is only half our day...just wait until i get around to our afternoon...more glorious vegan food, with a dash of vegan shopping, a splash of vegan vino and an evening full of vegan decadence (foodie decadence that is and of course chocolate, chocolate, chocolate)! one can only imagine what that may entail?? more to come....good evening for now my meat eating friends and fellow veg-heads...

Veganmama, you rock!!!! I'm surprised this idea hasn't been suggested before now, it is a ratings winner. I appreciate your public confession, now let's see Anthony step up to the plate (the vegan dinner plate that is) and accept your challenge.

VEGANMAMA! I've been trying to propose the same thing!
I think Anthony should visit Olympia, WA or Portland, OR and do a vegan trip! I'm in the Pacific Northwest and would love to show Mr. Bourdain around the great green west with stops in the best vegan places.
Also, I would love to explore free food with Anthony- potlucks and potlatches! They are an extremely popular practice up here(and has been for years, starting with the indigenous peoples of the area) and they're an exchange of culture, ideas and friendship through food.

I hope that our ideas can catch on, and that we'll one day see Anthony Bourdain munching on tempeh with a vegan friend!

WOW...most excellent vibes Amyyy!! The ironic thing is that this idea, this notion, this little invitation to our dear friend Anthony has potential to be a full blown show on it's own...

Oh, how wonderful would it be to flip on the travel channel and see a fellow veg-head, noshing on animal friendly delicacies from around the world!

I dream of this day and as much as I love Anthony and as much as I want to make nice, nice with him...I still envision somebody carrying the veggie torch and running amok for all us foodies out there!

Could you even imagine how cool that would be???

I'm right there with yah and totally agree...One day babe, one day!!!!

i know! i've actually suggested it as a show idea!
For school, I wrote an independent learning contract that would feature me doing just that...perhaps, i'll submit that to the travel channel and we will see such programming!

Until then, we can hope to make nice with one of our favorite notorious meat eating bad boys of the kitchen.
