I know that Anthony just did an episode in the rust belt, but i have to insist that Anthony take a look at this resturant in Shelby township north of Detroit. When you think of American cuisine, what comes to your mind? To me, I imagine a sunny afternoon on Memorial Day Weekend, the start of summer in the air. The family is in the backyard, coolers are being loaded up, and Dads manning the grill, cooking up what I see as the quintessential American foods, Hamburgers and Hot Dogs! These mainstays have captivated Americans for decades and are here to stay. Marcus Grill has taken these two classics and combined them into a tasty; knock you off your feet goodness that will have you addicted in a matter of seconds, known as a Marcus Burger. In 1929, Charles Marcus invented this All Steak burger, always fresh never frozen meat, and steamed the cheese on the burger, and threw it on a hot dog bun, creating the first "hamburger in a hotdog bun". The recipe has been passed down from generation to generation, and the burger is made to order either "squeezed” or "juicy". Either way you get it, after your first bite, two things will immediately happen. First, you will understand why the Marcus Burger is celebrating its 80th birthday this year. And Second, the craving that will eminently hit you soon after, can only be satisfied by another Marcus Burger or locking yourself in the basement until an third party deems it safe for you to come out. They also serve a variety of Polish Specialties, homemade soups, and uniquely Michigan specialties. The perch is caught right in Lake Erie, so you know you are getting only the freshest quality fish. The sauces are made daily and compliment the dishes so well you want to just drink them in a mug. So if your looking for the best that Michigan has to offer, Marcus Grill all of that and more in a fun, friendly, family run operation. I promise you wont be dissappointed!
