If you want to experience the more touristy nightlife go anywhere in the Condesa district - which is full of bars, restaurants, and nightclubs. For more local nightlife head either north to the lomas district (nearby Polanco/Bosque de Chapultepec) or head south towards Pedregal. Many nightclubs frequented mainly by locals will give you a true insight on how the people of Mexico really party.
