Have you (Kirsten as well as the crew) given any thought to something like a Twitter account, to keep fans apprised of what you're working on? Realizing that there's a gap between when you're actually doing the treasure hunting, and when said treasures are presented on the Travel Channel, you could use Twitter (I'm using that as an example because I hate facebook) to post pics of cool things you uncover, behind the scenes pics, etc...just a thought.

Tonight's episode is exactly what I'm talking about. When were they in Texas?? It would have been cool to meet Kirsten, as well as the crew, if only to say hello and that I'm a fan. And they were in West Texas relatively recently. This is what I'm talking about.

Rebel,
I think most of us would like to traipse on out and visit Kristen & crew on a shoot, but it ain't gonna happen. They're on a tight shooting schedule. Can you imagine what would happen if they gave advance notice of their next dig? 200, maybe 500 fans show up and that episode is ruined for ALL the viewers. No dig, no filming, just crowd control and ticking off the land owners. Noble goal but the wrong venue.
The most we can hope for is something along the lines of a viewer appreciation party...say in their home, L.A. Or, say, they stay around after a 'hush-hush' adventure and announce a get together to press the flesh with fans at a mall, hotel or civic center.
I'm sure they would love to meet the fans. Here's hoping that something like that is in the works.

Aaaauuugh!
My earlier comments have bitten me in the butt.
In tonight's episode Kirsten is featured hunting seaglass in my own backyard. I have sailed the Bay. How great it would have been to be there for the filming. Of course, with 200 more people crowding the cliff to get a look, they couldn't rappel and there would be no show.
I still hope the producers can find a way to bring the adventure to the fans in person without compromising what they need to accomplish each week. It would further popularize the show.
