I am going to my honeymoon in Belize in Late October and am staying at "Blancaneux" on the mainland, I have heard many great reviews of this place... including from my photographer who went there on her honeymoon.

Blancaneaux is indeed great -owned by Francis Ford Copolla along with Turtle Inn in Placencia. As for honeymoons - I'd go for one of the upmarket hotels in San Pedro / Amergris Caye - try Mata Chica or see this Belize travel guide for other ideas.

For your Honeymoon...you should definitely do the romantic island escape as well as the secluded exotic rainforest...

Blancaneaux is outstanding for the mainland...

For the islands, you can either go totally secluded, or just semi-secluded....

For total seclusion...you cannot beat http://www.aprivateisland.com/

The island is unbelievably gorgous.

But if you don't want to be totally away from everything, then it is Caye Caulker, hands down.

Caye Caulker is sandy streets, you walk or ride bikes. Everyone is friendly and the island is colorful and tropical.

The accommodations vary...Seaside villas is very nice...view of the caribbean sea, a/c, king bed, rooftop whirlpool with views of both sides of the island...so sunrises and sunsets.

You can also book lots of trips from Caye Caulker...go to the famous blue hole as a day trip...snorkel Shark Ray Alley...Hol Chan Marine Reserve...also day trips to go Cave Tubing (really fun) and there are Zip Line trips too.

Read up on Caye Caulker in some of the travel books...make sure they are current books. Caye Caulker is twice as beautiful as San Pedro and half the price of San Pedro.

Hope that helps!
Congratulations!!!
