Hey Tjs, lovin' the show, you guys rock. And speaking of rock, while you're in Costa Rica, you should check out some volcanic rock at the Parque Nacional Volcán Poás. There are 2 giant craters, one of them is about a mile across, and there are some great trails. I know 2 of have seen a couple of craters on Easter Island, but these are "LIVE" volcanos! They spew steam and sulfurous gases and hot mud!
All the fun of geo-thermal upheaval without the molten lava to ruin the your shoes. Eek

Hi T.J.s!  I'm so glad you're in Costa Rica & have the opportunity to immerse yourself in the natural world!  Of course there are all types of exotic fauna there, but as a gardener I must implore you:  don't forget the flora!  There a spectacular variety of tropical flowers in Costa Rica, and you can see them at one of the many flower plantations.  (Many of the tropical flowers we see at florist shops in the States come from this area.) Kick it forward TJs!

happy & safe travels!

I highly recommend you guys check out the Bio Park or "Ibioparque" while you are in Costa Rica.
It's only 15 minutes away from San Jose and you can experience living samples of Costa Rica's native ecosystem. We're very proud of our efforts at Eco Tourism here and it's a lot of fun!

Hi TJs,
Costa Rica is the biggest exporter of pineapples in the world and there is a reason for that - they are delicious! I've read that you can visit pineapple plantations so I would love to see you visit one. I'm so jealous!

Absolutely Santo Domingo has to be one of the stops. There is no sense in doing a Latin American tour if you don't go where it all began. First city in the New World, first cathedral, First University, First everything.

Go to Dominican Republic..

The city is home to the oldest establishment of the western hemisphere. In fact, Christopher Columbus founded many of the city's buildings and churches. The locals even say that Columbus' body is buried in one of the country's churches.

Also, they will be able to see the oldest church(es) and the oldest university of the western hemisphere. At the same time, they will fall in love with the oldest colonial neighborhoods of the new world (La Zona Colonial).

A really good time to go to Santo Domingo is during their annual festival held in La Vega. This festival is the biggest festival of Hispanola.

There are also many clubs in Santo Domingo that they can go to dance Merengue - one of most popular latin dances in the US second to Salsa.

Dominican Republic has close ties to the United States and over the past years tourism has grown a lot, this destination will be great for the Travel Channel to explore. I am sure the viewers will enjoy something new outside from the typical mentioned Latin American locations.

I'm with you buddy. The Dominican Republic it where it all began. You want colonial history? Go to Santo Domingo. Even more than in Colonia, Uruguay since I've been there, a lot lot more. Santo Domingo is where it all started with Columbus, where Spanish heritage was born and hence, where latin america was born. Latin America is not only South and Central America, but part of the Caribbean is too. And not only it's part, it's where the colonizers first landed, so before anything was colonized in South America, there was Hispaniola: "The most beautiful land human eyes have ever seen" (According to Columbus). And Hispaniola is the island shared by Haiti and Dom Rep. All the history is in Dominican Republic my friends, so it's your choice, but a Latin American tour is not complete without going where the colonization started, where Latin America formed.
