When I hear comments about Jamaica, I only hear all good or all bad. When I hear the bad, it's only about the hasseling locals. Well if you were making pennies an hour, you would probably be hasseling people too. But the bottom line is that the Jamaican people are some of the most kind, outgoing, humorous, good hearted people that I have ever met, and I have traveled to 15 countries all over the world. What I would suggest to do in Montego Bay, Jamaica? Go to the Pork Pit. It is a non-tourist eatery with real authentic jerk chicken, roasted sweet potato, and some of the best marinated shrimp I have ever indulged in. Not only do you get the tantilizing taste of authentic Jamaican food, but the outgoing personalities of the Jamican people will give you the sence of culture that is all good, and of course, "no problem, mon".

I WANT TO KNOW HOW DANGEROUS IT IS IN JAMAICA I WANT TO GO SO BAD BUT EVERYONE IS LIKE YOU WILL GET KILLED AND THEY DON'T LIKE WHITE PEOPLE. I WANT TO GO TO THE BOB MARLEY MUSEUM, TO THE TOWN CALLED BATH AND MO BAY TO PARTY. I HAVE A FRIEND I MET ONLINE AND HE LIVES IN ST. ELIZABETH. I COULD HAVE WENT FOR FREE BUT I WOULD HAVE BEEN STAYING WITH SOMEONE I MET ONLINE. BUT I WANT TO GO SO BAD BUT I ALWAYS HEAR BAD THINGS ABOUT IT. SO IF YOU COULD ANSWER THESE QUESTIONS I WOULD GLADLY APPRECIATE IT. THANKS

My family and I (2 children and husband) just returned from a 2 week vacation in mobay. we had a wonderful time. this is our 3rd visit. we stayed at a resort, but we did venture out several times. we did the canopy tour and the tubing tour. we hired a driver to take us to negril. we went downtown by ourselves in a taxi. we felt very safe. although we were approached several times and offered drugs. it is just the way it is there. i don't think i would drive on my own there because i would not want to end up where i wouldn't want to be. we usually do rent cars when we visit different caribbean islands. if you are aware of your surroundings and don't do anything foolish it is a wonderful place.

Well, I don't know where to start. I start by spending more than a few days in Jamaica. I have been there many times over the years and I drive myself all over the island. Many times the "hyped" things are overshadowed by the things just under the surface. Just go away from the touristed areas and you will be fine. Don't think that you have to do "things" and you will find what I am talking about.

Wow, Im a local and student and i always love to hear about the good and the bad. to be honest i hardly ever hear bad comments. people in jamaica are really kind and social, we love to help tourit in any way. if more people knew this would travel the countryside more and would see the true beauty of the island and our people.
