I love the ocean. I don't even mind the sand. I'd love to see many beaches but, I live close enough to go to Myrtle pretty often. Can't afford to go much farther. I just wish the beaches were cleaner. It's like nobody knows how to put garbage in a garbage can! Leftover firework packages, soft drink cups, cigarette butts, beer bottle tops....and on and on line the what was once very beautiful beaches. Not just Myrtle but others as well. Why? Do people care about our environment anymore? Imagine a beach without garbage. Can anyone visualize that? How can we really clean it up?

I agree.. but if your are looking for a pristeen beach vacation, go North to Maine. very unspoiled or try (North) Ocean City, Maryland or Rehoboth beach Delaware. rehoboth has done LOTS of beach replenishment the past 5 years with awesome results. your welcome.. dantheman

Write your congrees and suggest a bottle return law. I was in South Carolina and could not believe all the bottles and cans on the roads and in the parks. Up here in Michigan we have a return law and our lakes and parks are much cleaner. Plus you can make a little cash picking them up off the ground and taking them back!!!
