Great posting! My wife and I, along with three other couples are going on a Med cruise in October. We will be visiting 4 ports in Italy (including Rome). We are considering hiring an English speaking driver rather than booking the more expensive tours on the ship. One of the companies that I am considering has a web site at www.driverinitaly.com. This company tells me that they can support us in all of our Ports of Call. How did you discover Filippo and how did you arrange payment? Did he pick you up at the ship? Our family used www.driverinrome.com in 2005 and could not have been happier. We were travelling by cruise and actually used their services in 3 different stops. They were professional, fun and very informative. They were always on time and we had no worries whatsoever. Our drivers were Daniele (son of the owner of the company), Fabrizio, Manny, and Daniele. I would highly recommend them all!!!

I would highly recommend www.romeinlimo.com for any private tours anywhere in Italy. We used them in Livorno, Naples and Rome. The drivers are knowledgeable and lots of fun. Ask for Laura in Livorno and Carlo or Duman in Rome.
Carlo became like family to our group of 6.
Prices are reasonable, mini buses were very roomy for 6.
