Hong Kong's Lantau Island is never to be missed. Although I have visited the Giant Buddha and Wisdom Path, I'd like to go there again when the sun is up since the last time I went there it was foggy. I'd like to see the majestic view from the top of the mountain.

Planning a trip to Hong Kong for next year.
Could you advise the best time to go for weather that is warm and sunny? Could you also advise the length of stay to visit Hong Kong and other sites of interest? |

Hong Kong weather is famous for it's unpredictability, and rain can turn to shine in a matter of seconds. The city also hosts some of the world's more extreme weather. In no particular order, Hong Kong weather warnings can be issued for; black rain, direct-hit typhoons, extreme heat, thunderstorms and landslides, but don't be put off, the city is also blessed with gallons of sunshine for plenty of the year.
Plenty of rain and plenty more humidity, if a little lighter on the heat than July. August is, howeve,r when Hong Kongers get back after vacations and Hong Kong events are plentiful. August is oppressively hot and humid with regular monsoon downfalls. Typhoons in Hong Kong are occasionally seen in August, bringing high winds and plenty of rain. Hong Kong is a unique city with a unique history, and, because of this it has plenty of unique experiences. Museums and tours are all very well, but Hong Kong is really a city that has to be experienced to be understood. Enjoy your trip. |
