I was deeply moved by the man who had lost a leg and arm to an unexploded munition dropped by the USA during the Vietnam war. I'd like to do something to help this man and his family; and identify other people who have had the same bad luck. Can anyone of the crew of No Reservation help me get in touch with the family and someone in Laos who could put me into contact with others impacted by the unexploded munitions.
Thanks,Normzee

I second that! Please let me know how to get in touch with the family from this episode as I would like to help in any way I can. Im a veteran of Iraq and Afghanistan and know first hand the pain and suffering war can bring. Standing by to assist! Matt

Oh please, don't help someone just because he got on TV.

If you really want to help, donate to an orphanage instead.

If you REALLY want to help, get involved to send some serious aid to everyone over there - not just one family - and get all those munitions cleared the f%$&* out. I don't know about you, but my Mama taught me to clean up my own messes, and most of those cute little firecrackers are stamped "USA" on the side.

How to do this? Talk to the truly powerful people out there. Their contact information is in the blue pages of your phone book, or readily available on the internet. Through the magic of representative democracy (or what's left of it), you can clean up our past messes and stop the creation of new ones. Much better than sending a check and saying "sorry" after the fact - though of course we have a responsibility to do that too, I think.

Ever wonder what country Tony (or his daughter)will be visiting in 35 years and showing us the same sort of screwed-up stuff? I don't.

Let's all hope the moving scenes of half-starved families (however lovely and gracious they are...) and their amputee heads-of-household are just Travel Channel history by then.

If you want to help the efforts to remove unexploded ordnance from Laos you can contribute your time or money to these organizations:
UXO Lao
www.uxolao.org

Mines Advisory Group (MAG):
www.maginternational.org

Mine Action:
www.mineaction.org

In addition, Americans in particular can write to their congressional representatives to demand more U.S. contributions of money and technical assistance to UXO clearing efforts in Laos. Several other countries, smaller than the U.S. and with less direct involvement, are currently exceeding Washington's contribution.

Thank you

message for Tony,
We need the address of that family in the Laos show.As a refugee myself, I suffered a lot, got little HELP, was hungry, afraid for my life and my family but I learned one important thing. Even a little bit helps. God bless the people that felt the same and maybe together we can make a difference.
