Traveling for a living is my way of living. I am so jealous of what Tony does. He gets paid to meet cool new people and be invited to have a meal in their home. Since watching this show i travel to places looking for the "local" spots. on our honeymoon to Cancun my husband and I got so mad when all of the "turist" food tasted like back in Texas. I finaly decided to get lost and found a really great hole in the wall where we met new people and got a really great meal. Thank you for the eye opening experiences... and if you ever need some other person to carry another bag... i'm your girl...

Firstly, Congratulations! We have all learned a thing or two from NR and Tony...those holes in the wall can be quite surprising! I like to think of it as an adventure! Personally, I try to steer clear of the chains as it just doesn't seem to appeal to me on the same level. Some of my friends refer to it as being a 'risk taker' but I believe it is actually the opposite. (They've got food poisoning twice at Denny's - with the symptoms they had, I lovingly refer to it as the Grand Slam!) May you and your husband never stop seeking out the new adventures - even when you are at home.
All the best,

You should feel blessed that youve travelled as much as you have....

I'm shocked you even tried the touristy slop?

Really, the most cost-effective and amazing way to eat is to get, lost.. very lost.. and ask a local what's good. They'll rarely dissapoint. And you'll experience some reality.
