Come on Tony. Lets get away from guts and snot. We have that bizzare foods show for that. Get some real culture. Try New Mexico, Las Cruces to be exact.

I highly disagree with you. IMO, some of Tony's best episodes were in Asia. I'm really looking forward to his exploits in Laos and Tokyo for the new season.

Plus, I'm Asian and offended by your comment on getting some real culture. That's an extremely biased and arrogant comment.

It makes financial sense for Tony to travel to more South American, Middle Eastern and Asian countries since the exchange rate is lousy for Europe.

Too bad your all upset. I'm upset over too many trips to countrys that we still suffer the scars and night mares of war. All of America is selling out to China,Vietnam,LAOS,Taiwan,Thai-
land, etc, etc. We boycott goods from these countrys as all patriotic Americans should. Gee
maybe unemployment would drop if American goods
could be bought in American stores. You should go and visit California, or CALBODIA as it is now refered to as. It is a total mess.

my suggestion to scott is: if you don't like the Asian episodes, then don't watch them. AB has made it pretty well known that he is a fan of Asia and since he gets to pick and choose where he goes, it doesn't surprise me that there are many episodes based in Asian countries. Personally I enjoy those episodes as it gives me a glimpse into a culture that I may not get to experience (although hopefully one day I will).

You obviously have personal issues with respect to the Asian countries and cultures and I wish you luck in dealing with those.

Scars of War? Dude this isn't 1975....the Vietnam War is long over. If you aren't a fan of the Asian episodes then great, but don't insult the countries and accuse Americans of selling out to them. Keep your political views to yourself.

Bourdain has already done something on Mexican food and the culture. Asia has many different countries each with its own diverse culture and types of food . I believe he could probably go back to Asia and always show something different. My question is, why Laos? Of all the places Cambodia would have been the better choice. Laos and Thailand were once part of the Ancient Khmer Empire which its Kingdom was in Cambodia. I can understand doing something special about Thailand because of its modern day culture but I feel like you can find the heart of their culture in Cambodia.

Why not Laos? Cambodia has a rich culture and it already has soo many documented history and records, but Laos on the other hand has very little existence in our world. There is soo much hidden U.S.history(Secret War) as well as unknown culture(field of jars) that awaits to be acknowledged by the world today.

I have been a huge fan of Anthony Bourdain and was very excited for the new season. I LOVED the new episode, maybe b/c that's where my family originated from. That WAS 'real culture'. It was beautiful and depicted the culture in such a way that hit home and moved me. p.s. Laos and Cambodia are not one in the same.

I have to agree. I would like to see him go somewhere else for a change. I enjoy the Asia episodes as much as the next guy. Guess I am still secretly hoping he goes to Chicago too!

Come on, street vendors cooking food, crazy traffic, beautiful scenery, old style houses, commy officials looming in the background (at least for Vietnam and China). What's not to love?

Remember, it's not just a travel show, it's a food show. And having been to Cambodia I can tell you, there's not much to show as far as food goes. Bourdain has also been to Cambodia, twice I believe, but hasn't made an episode of it. Maybe there's a reason for that.

All you people who forget... Where do you think sarrs came from? You actually love drinking water that these so called people even urinate and poop in? You sell out your neighbor and support the Asian's? Hey! Wake up! Don't you see the signs? I don't know about you, but if I can't read the store sign, then I'm in the wrong part of town. Or country. The Vietnamese, Laotians, Cambodians, Thai, are all still at
WAR with us. In a quiet manner. Smell the roses people! The V.C.,Cambodians, Laotians, Thai, all get "0" interest free loans on homes! If
any one tells you otherwise, then they are in on it. Why the V.C.? Why don't the original people (Native American, Mexican American)....
Why don't these original people's get this SPECIAL treatment? Because then President Ford welcomed the "boat people" and said that we must
ask them to "forgive us" and except our "appology". FOR WHAT!!!!! 50% of our state and national taxes are paying for these "poor" people.
Is this right? NO!!! The next time a V.C throws it's cigarrete out the window in Calbodia (California) and starts a forest fire, ask your-
self this question. Shouldn't our hero's who fought for us in the 50's, 60's & 70's over there in Vietnam be getting this special aid?
I do! WAKE UP!!! BOYCOTT THE ASIAN EPISODES!!!! LET THE TRAVEL CHANNEL KNOW!!!!

Scott or whatever your name is:

You have some nerve logging on to this forum to post your disgusting and angry diatribes. Obviously you know zilch about Asia and their wonderful cultures other than your cartoonish and ignorant stereotypes.

Tony Bourdain appreciates the culture and food, which you obviously don't. He and the Travel Channel doesn't need a fan/viewer like you.

I'm done with this thread, thinking about this anymore makes me want to puke.

Mod Ben: I hope you close thread or ban this guy's account.

Yes, please keep the hate mongering off of the forums. Feedback on shows is appreciated, as is healthy debate. Let's try to keep things positive here though instead of blaming everything on Asian countries. I am closing this thread to avoid this discussion getting any more offensive.
