In most of Bourdain's shows he is always around men or hanging with a guy - where are all the women?

I watch him and Andrew Zimmern faithfully and I am a woman, And I think Anthony is gay all he talks about is throbbing this and heaping that. Get some vag! in at least one episode! I also think he is prejudice against african americans because he rarely visites anywhere the has African American foods and if he does he gets the hell out quick. Zimmern is awsome and Anthony is jealous of him.And he should be because soon it will be called no reservations for Anthony Bourdain hosted by Andrew Zimmern!

In no way have I ever witnessed any form of racism in the show.

Epic fail on your part.

Apparently you don't watch the show, so how could you accuse him of such? He's been across the globe - and in African American communities as well as many other races. Is it too nebulous merely because he's not actually *gasp* always in Africa proper?

Seriously, this thread fails. I understand that maybe the poster enjoys the cute and handsomely paid TV eye candy; it's just refreshing for those of us out there that are tired of half nude, ridiculously giggly time fillers that have no purpose. I've seen Anthony with women that are chefs and so forth, I would say it's 50/50 btw.

Married with child is gay to you? Wow, you've got issues!

Louisa Chu was one of my favorite chef guides, both in Paris and Chicago. Nari's been on the Korea and New Jersey episodes. Women are constantly guiding Mr. Bourdain here and there. I think you see what you want to see instead of what is actually shown.

If you're looking for women, I 'm sure you can get your fill of bikini clad girls if you check your TV listings. The Travel Channel anticipated your needs and has fulfilled them!

Nice comment, pelepel. You said it all...

I've been wondering why there are no women on the show, also!!!!!

I'm an avid fan, laugh hysterically at his sense of humor, but think that the show needs a suburban middle age woman's perspective also.

So, Anthony, how about kicking your show up a notch with a woman! I'm available! Jersey girl and all.

Agreed. I have noticed that. He might get some more ratings if he had a woman on the show. I recently saw the show where he went to India and Anthony made a comment about how he might have to get a sidekick for season 4 (a sock puppet or something). I think he should think about having a woman sidekick just as witty to comment back on all his remarks. I would give anything to travel everywhere and eat crazy food for my job!

Women on the show?! Mmmm...the India episode has women (gorgeous) women on the show during the mock movie mogul bit. That's about as much women as the show needs in my opinion. Tony is the main focus. The sidekicks are the booze, cigarettes, and sharp jabs/incisive commentaries. I love to see women (if they're beautiful) as much as the next guy but let's not complicate the show. There's already the shameless Card Sapphire plug to deal with....he he

Grace77,
If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
AB is the furthest thing from gay. my buddy lives in his building on the upper east side and sees him, wife, child on a regular basis and they seem very content.
If you prefer women on tv then stick with Zimmerns' show

He loves women...on a couple of his shows if you've watched~ he's made comments on the fact of women. One in particular with the "gaucho's" or cowboys in I believe it was Argentina??? One of the gaucho's made a comment about what they do all alone while tending to their sheep together and his comment back was something like "Is this like 'Brokeback Mountain?!! No, I'm into women!!!" Can't remember all of the details, I've seen too many of his shows.

I like his raw sense of humor and that he's himself not trying to sound like a fake. He's not a sissyman that's for sure. He's married and has a beautiful wife and a young daughter.

He loves all cultures...just watch all of his shows and you can see it. He's not racist at all or he wouldn't be traveling around the globe. People who are racists to me wouldn't be enjoying other cultures or all colors of the skin.

Maybe his producers just haven't made the event yet for him to go to many other places. Just wait and see.

hey tasches and suburbancavewoman, i hear you, sisters Wink we're not talking about having random eye candy on the show for the male viewers to ogle over. we're just wondering "hey, how come there aren't more female chefs and/or just average women as expert food companions on the show?". i think of examples like south korea w/ nari, panama, sardinia w/ his wife, brazil & turkey (been on a 2-week TiVo'd marathon of the show, so these examples are fresh on my mind), and 'twas refreshing to see women of those countries or backgrounds giving anthony their perspective on the highlights of their culture's cuisine as guides/fixers. they weren't there for TnA, just sharing their love of food. truth be told, i think anthony has some serious "swexiness" (sexy + swagger) going on every so often (which may coincide with certain times of the month, who knows); if just to have a female sidekick on the show, so i can imagine myself in said sidekick's place...oh yes Wink though of course it's all about the food, bottomline.
