If you want to have some fun, go down Diagonal Drive and you'll find a small park to side of you. That is City Park. It has rides (including a train that rides around the park), Storybook Land (a place where young children can play), and many other things. It's a nice place to have a birthday party! You can also catch special events during the year, such as the many Christmas trees along a long walkway and band performances.

If you want to try something different, go to Slidell and take the Swamp Tour, brochure in hotel lobbies, it was the best $23.00 I have spent. You will learn alot about the history, see alligators, and wildlife...p.s. ALligators are trained to come out when they hear the boats, tour guide feeds them!! But it is 2 hours long and alot of fun
