Beijing
*** three stars out of five
mildly moving

The mood feels more tense, but by the end of the show at the "weird meat market" (where she was eating a starfish-on-a-stick) I was happy.
Maybe it feels more tense to watch, because of
the differences in behavior I see on the screen
i'm not sure.

I really like the oasis' inside of the walled
hootong areas. The chinese seem to have such an interest in numbers, and order. Even the Pomegranite tree luckily had a fruit grow correctly. The food is cut in numbers, cooked
in patterns, and eaten wrapped in symmetry.

I think that the ancient emporers and emporess's
really must have lived like children in the forbidden city, and the vacation palace. What
could be wrong with that? Politics must have spoiled alot of fun and games...

Interesting that an entire apartment -sized
hotel can be had for the price of a regular hotel in the U.S. A microwave has a setting
for steamed duck, I wonder why it is in english?
I wonder what the portable stereos' equalizer settings in Mandarin really say? Steamed duck.
(For like Iggy Pop, or some such)

The pettycabs are a great idea for the future of human kind! Irony intended. I wonder how far
twenty dollars will get you?

Mr. Hu at the Acrobat Macro- something center seemed to be an interesting person as did the girl who could stand on one hand in various
postures for 30 minutes.

Beautiful views from the great wall, beautiful
architecture, colors, and tattoo- like paintings
covering so much of every surface in historical parts of the forbidden city shown.

Favorite parts:
Standing at a breathtaking view from the Great Wall: "This is what Genghis Khan saw when he came over it."
Standing at the Great Wall: "Everyone, like
I are just in awe of this!" while a (young couple?)behind her are looking at the camera like, "Uh oh, now the parents know where we meet everyday"

Like kids at a fair with lollipops on sticks, the people at the attractions might just walk around with (cute?) starfish-on sticks.
