I absolutely loved the 1st episode. I actually went to Beijing 2 years ago and Sam pretty much covered most of the places that I visited on my trip. The only thing I regret was that my tour group did not take us to that night market where Sam sampled the crunchy star fish.

But back to the show, I think the overall look and style of the show was true to what the Europe and Latin America series did. Sam was warm and friendly and very charming. She did a solid job as the on camera guide. I thought the writers of this episode did a good job showing the viewers some interesting aspects of Beijing for a newcomer.

Loved the final segment where Sam climbed the Big Wall. I recall doing that and it was one of the most exhausting andn exhilirating experiences I have ever had in my lifetime. Bravo to Sam for making the climb!!

Solid 1st episode!! Now this is what the Passport series should be like.

Anyone notice in the Beijing episode that Sam said she was 37? All the online articles I read says she is 39 going on 40.
