I am heading to Disney soon with my 4 year old son. I was wondering if anyone has suggestions about good things to do there with a kid this age?

Hey ben. I was just at Disney with my 3 boys and my youngest is 6 but I would think their is alot for a 4 year old to do. If you stay on Disney property they all have a pool and most resorts also have daily activities. He may not be able to do all the rides but I would think most. Definatley check out all the 3-D shows like It's tough to be a bug, PhilarMagic and the MupphetShow. He will love the Playhouse Disney show as well. Plus he is still at the age where he will love meeting all the characters, you can buy autograph books at any giftshop. You two will have a blast.

My suggestion with a four year old in Disney is to stick to Magic Kingdom or Animal Kingdom. Make sure you take all your food breaks. Bring snacks and water for long lines. Also, leave the parks midday and go back to your hotel for some relaxing pool/down time. Don't even attempt a fancy restaurant for adults, stick with faster meal choices. This comes from experience and my youngest was 8. The parades and fireworks shows are fabulous and fun, but very crowded. If your child is tired, it won't be worth it. That's why you take the break midday, so they last till showtimes. Our whole family of five loves Disneyworld and wish we could afford to go every year. Have a blast!

Thanks Karen. Helpful advice. I actually just purchased my tickets online. I got a really good deal from the Children's Hospital of Florida. They have a promotion that if you donate $59, they give you a day pass for free. Normal price is 71, not including tax. You can also buy multiple tickets this way through them.
Here is the link.
