Hello, A couple of years ago my fiance and I saw a program where Samantha Brown was the host. It was for a small island resort, I believe in or near the florida keys. It was originally built as a retreat for President Roosevelt?, which is why it had electricity. It wasn't truely a hotel because all the rooms were bungalows the majority of which had outdoor showers. I'm pretty sure it catered to adult couples, because they didn't allow children. One feature I also remembered was that they would set up a dinner on the beach for you. My fiance and I have finally set a date and we would love to honeymoon there, but we can't remember the name. Can anyone help us? Thanks So Much!

Thanks to your description, I can tell that the resort you saw was Little Palm Island, in Little Torch Key, Florida. Check out their website at www.littlepalmisland.comand I hope you can go there!

Does anyone have a suggestion for a great hotel in San Diego, CA?

Samantha did an episode of "Great Hotels" where she stayed at The W Hotel in San Diego. It was a very hip and happening place, with a good location and I believe Samantha genuinely enjoyed her stay there.

I thought the Hotel Del Coronado was somewhere in between Los Angeles and San Diego, but before posting my reply, I decided to check it out. I found to my surprise, that it's on Coronado Island in San Diego Bay, so it's not actually in San Diego, but it's very close. So I guess, when it comes to "Great Hotels", in the San Diego area, you can go with the hip and happening W Hotel, or the very elegant Victorian Hotel Del Coronado. Either way, you'll be walking in Samanthas' footsteps, so you can't go wrong.
