My mom is HUGE HUGE fan of your shows, she tries to watch it at every opportunity. We were on vacation recently and came across a great hotel you should consider for your show. It is the Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island in Michigan. Mackinac Island is a really unique resort town, you can only get to it by boat or helicopter. And on the island, no car is permitted, just horses and bikes. The Grand Hotel sits on top a hill over looking the Great Lakes, the view is maginificent. And the Hotel is also the setting for the movie "Somewhere in Time" with Christopher Reeves. The hotel itself is ornately decorated, and boasts one of the largest (if not the largest) open porch in any hotel. I don't think you have ever done a show in Michigan, we think it would be a refreshing change for you. And Mackinac is famous for their fudge and cherries, there are probably more than 50 fudge shops near and around the Grand Hotel. It is very (dare i say it?) quaint. The whole place is just very Samantha Brown.

I was intending to suggest this hotel to her and while reading it seemed many people on this board have suggested the Grand Hotel in Mackinac. I loved this island and thought it was gorgeous!

However this show has been off the air for a while now and unlikely to continue, so I'm wondering if anyone on this forum knows if she ever DID an episode with Mackinac Island?

I would love the Travel Channel to do a search feature where I could type in my travel location and pull up anything SB has said on the topic. What hotels she has recommended or pull up the things she said to do when there.

When she was doing the Great Vacation Homes show she visited Mackinac Island. I think she stayed at one of those big homes up on the bluff next to the hotel and she walked around in town. That was years ago though.
