I was just looking at some of the forum posts, and was a little discouraged to see that the show is being cancelled????!! i hope not! :] anyways, back to my post: has Sam ever been to the oldest Inn in America?? Nestled in the cozey village of Rhinebeck, New York, in the heart of the Hudson Valley, the Beekman Arms is the oldest operating Inn in America accomadating 23 rooms, and one block away, the Delamater Inn, which has 50 rooms surrouded by a garden courtyard. The Inn is right in the center of town, providing easy walking to numerous restaurants, antique shops, theatres and stores. It is also in the center of the "Great Estates Region" with exceptional sites to visit including the FDR Home and Library in historic Hyde Park, New York, the famouse Vanderbilt Family Mansion, and the old Rhinebeck Aerodrome. And just about a half hour drive south on semi-scenic Route 9, settled right on the Hudson River, will bring you to historic Poughkeepsie, New York, founded in 1687, with some of the most notable foundations in all of New York such as Vassar College, the Cullinary Institute of America, the Bardavon Theatre, and New York's oldest newspaper still being published, the Poughkeepsie Journal. Poughkeepsie's City Centre holds a fine hotel, The Poughkeepsie Grand Hotel, with many room options from standard guest rooms to bridal suites and executive guest rooms. Being in the centre of town holds many options for the visiting traveler to explor and enjoy from the Poughkeepsie Waterfront, excelent restaurants, fantastic shopping and fine arts...the options are endless! I have no idea if i have done the "Sam, please visit this area!!" begg right, but i hope she would have to opportunity to experience the friendlyness and fun mid-state New York has to offer!
