I would like to see the Moderates and Value resorts at Walt Disney WOrld. Not everyone can afford the Deluxe resorts so how about thinking of familys. Also how about airing shows during Prime Time. Those of us that work cannot see most of the shows unless they are aired on the week-ends.I'm in the midwest and your shows are on at 11AM to early and 10-11PM to late .

It's a good idea to have this list. Then the Travel Channel can view this and not need to search for individual posts. Keep updating it Wink

Walt Disney's Vero Beach Resort is an often overlooked resort, and in my humble opinion, Disney's best Resort in the United States.

You have a quiet, peaceful seaside town with a great tradition of patroning the arts.

A gorgeous hotel

The beach

Everything you could ask for. Including a bar with a guitar plaer, nature walks, Scuba, and bikes to ride around the town on.

You should do a special about some of the spectacular desert resorts in Scottsdale, Arizona or you should just do a a show on the J.W. Marriot Resort & Spa at Desert Ridge. It's one of the biggest and nicest resorts in Arizona. It also has the largest ballroom in all of Arizona.

I think that Sam should stay at the Disney All Star Resorts. There are 3 themes to choose from: sports, music and movies. And the best thing is that they are only about $80 a night. That is so extremely cheap for Disney World. I stayed in the All Star Movie resort in March for Spring Break and thought it was great. I was in the Buzz Lightyear building. There was a BuzzLKightyear that was about 50 feet right on the ouitside of the building. It was so funny.

I think the All Star Resorts is a great place for spring breakers and people that are on a tight budget. It cost me about $1,100 for my whole spring break and I was there for 4 nights! Of course I didn't spend $1,100 on the hotel alone. I speat probably only about $500 on the hotel and beleive me, that is not bad at all for a Disney hotel.

If you ever wondered what it is like to stay in a lighthouse on the water, than the Lighthouse Club Hotel at Fager's Island, Ocean City/MD is a really great place right on the Isle of Wight Bay. It is set apart from the rest of the hotels in Ocean City that are on the ocean side of the island, and therefore much quieter.

http://www.fagers.com/hotel/

Another place that I recently visited but did not stay at yet is the Wequassett Inn in Chatham, Cape Cod.

My suggestion would be the Heritage House Inn located in Little River, California. This inn is the setting for the 1978 movie, Same Time Next Year. The rooms are beautiful and the view of the northern California coastline is breathtaking. The room where most of the filming took place is called, Next Year. Surely an inn for romantics. Check out their website.

Not to offend, but let's remember that this show is called Great Hotels, not Cheap Hotels. I personally would not want to see 30 minutes of the All-Star resort, which is basically a Motel 6 with Disney theming. I am all for being budget conscious, but the purpose of the show is to showcase properties that one might not otherwise get to visit, and maybe now you would explore. Notice how as the seasons go on Sam books some sort of a suite!?! Who wants to see the standard room all the time...live in the fantasy. Cheers!

I think that Sam should do an episode with two hotels in it. One with a hotel in New York City, and another hotel in Southampton.

The episode should be maybe the Carlyle Hotel New York/The Atlantic Inn Southampton.

There are other inns in Southampton. Just click on the link above and it will give you a list. For samantha, you should do a lot more inns so visit

My all time favorite hotel - and one Samantha has GOT to see - is the Mena House Oberoi in Giza, Egypt. It is located at the base of the Pyramids of Giza (only a 5 minute walk to the plateau). It was a royal hunting lodge built for the opening of the Suez canal in the late 1800s, and the original wing is absolutely gorgeous! Carved wood, marble floors, brass lanterns, very Arabian Nights. The service is excellent, the staff is incredibly friendly, and you can't beat the views of the Pyramids! And the breakfast buffet has to be seen to be believed.

Also, the Sonesta St. George in Luxor. from the restaurant, the view across the Nile to the cliffs of the Valley of the Kings is amazing. Sit back and watch the feluccas sail the Nile, or the hot air balloons rising in the morning. A newer hotel, it is filled with Pharaonic motifs, and is just beautiful.

The Westin Poinsett was constructed in 1925 and was recently renovated. The Westin Poinsett combines 1920s style with 21st century conveniences. Guest rooms feature the Heavenly Bed, marble bathrooms with brass fixtures and dual-line telephones with data ports. The original decorative plate-work and handcrafted marble have been restored in the ornate lobby and grand ballrooms.

Also, the Westin Poinsett is centered in Greenville's pedestrian friendly downtown. Downtown Greenville has recently renovated Falls Park and opened up a new cable suspension bridge that is suspended over the magnificent Reedy River Falls and public gardens. Though the Park is a huge attraction that's only the beginning. Downtown has an intimate feel, alive with vibrant clubs, shops, hotels and restaurants still with a historic atmosphere. Please check out these site to give you a better glimpse into Downtown Greenville, South Carolina and The Westin Poinsett.

As we are compiling a single list, I believe that Chicagoboy and I are in agreement nominating the Chase Park Plaza Hotel in St. Louis. I also concur with the Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island nomination.

Here's hoping that SB gets either a season or a spin off on the great hotels of Europe ...

The Chase Park Plaza in St. Louis would be a great choice. There is a lot of history in this hotel. The city has many places to visit. You should really visit the Arch if you come to town. At Forest Park you will find the St. Louis Zoo, Science Center, History Museum, Art Museum, and more.
