Disney's Wilderness Lodge and Port Orleans Riverside

While I think the rooms are better at the Wilderness Lodge, I love them equally. Because, the Riverside resort cost less and has a food court which I enjoyed most of my meals at during my last trip.

If you want to feel like your away from it all, like you've got a million bucks yet not spend it, then Lake Tahoe Nevada, North Shore Hyatt Regency is where you want to stay. Stay in their cabins right on Lake Tahoe for seclusion and romance, there is a huge bedroom with sitting space, TV, of course your mini bar huge comfy kings size bed with a hall to your 1st bath and abundant closet space, with a safe, there is a TV in your bathroom so you can catch up on the news while you soak, then there is a half bath off the dining area and small kitchenette with sink, small fridge and cupboards with cups, saucers, plates and utensils, as well as a microwave, and coffee maker with FREE coffee, off the dining area is the living room with a large FIRE PLACE Yes a fire place with stone mantels and a Tv and couch and chairs to lounge in, off the living is a large wood deck through the glass sliders where you can sit if its not too cold and check out the magnificent view of Lake Tahoe and the Mountains. This Is HEAVEN. If you ski its a short trip to several great slopes like heavenly at the south shore. Take it from Me I have been going there for the last 5 years for my retreat away from life as we know it. The service is great, the people are great and there is no hussle and bustle, just peace and tranquility, now how often can you say that?

This Wyndham Anatole is so pretty! There is a beautiful park where you can walk and feed the ducks. The hotel pool has a cute little swim up bar where you can get a nice cold drink. The hotel offers an extensive variety of dining options with its seven restaurants.

It would have to be the Ritz Carlton St Thomas U.S Virgin Islands. Talk about a gorgeous view, and service was excellent. The standard room was more like a suite. And just a short boat ride to the island of St John. Cool

I would have to say that the best hotel is the Four Seasons in New York City. I have stayed in many great hotels over the years, but this hotel wins praise for its excellent service and amenities. The staff always remembered my name which is strange for a large hotel. It was one of my most memorable experiences.

I love grand old hotels begause they have a genuine sense of place. They also seem to have respect for higher service standards. That said, the finest hotel I've ever stayed at was a newer resort.

Turnberry Isle Resort & Club is a wonderfully civilized resort with AMAZING rooms, great service and incredible food. Turnberry's rooms are like elegant suites. Zagat rates them the best rooms in the South. They're like Ritz-Carlton rooms with more personality.

One of their restaurants is rated the best in Miami by Zagat...but it's only open to hotel guests and club members.

Beautiful new spa, a private ocean club, two golf courses by some famous guy...not a golfer but the grounds are absolutley beautiful. You are surrounded by gardens and water...and the waterways are filled with swans and exotic local birds. The whole place is just incredible.

Runner's up?
If you love casual elegance slighlty removed from the chaos (Turnberry is about 10 miles north of South Beach) try the new

•Ritz Carlton at Lake Las Vegas midway between the Hoover Dam and the City or for a more authentic desert experience, the

•Camelback Inn in Paradise Valley. (Phoenix/Scottsdale) The Camelback could easily be one of the best resorts anywhere but the last visit wasn't great. The grounds are beautiful, but they seem to be haveing some service issues.

1. Banff Springs Hotel
2. Chateau Lake Louise
3. Hilton Waikoloa
4. Kona Village Resort
5. Lake Placid Lodge
6. L'Auberge de Sedona
7. Big Cedar Lodge
8. Salishan Lodge
9. The Greenbrier
10.Disney's Polynesian/Grand Californian/Grand Floridian/Wilderness Lodge

Since Sam has only done shows on Hilton Waikoloa & Kona Village Resort (plus the Disney hotels), I'd highly recommend that she do shows on the remainder. With the exception of The Greenbrier & the Canadian hotels, the others (items 5-8) are less well-known.

How could I have forgotten the wonderful **Ventana Inn** along California's Big Sur coastline? Certainly belongs in my favorites group!

(And, for a great place to have dinner or drinks to watch the sun set into the Pacific, Nepenthe is fabulous. Even Liz Taylor & Richard Burton thought so, back in the 60's. It's right on the ocean, with an outdoor terrace on top of a magnificent cliff. Doesn't get much better than this!)

I just came back from vacation at the Biltmore Estate in Ashville NC. My cousin & I sprurged & stayed at the Inn at Biltmore. We opted for the Bed & Breakfast Getaway. It included length of stay admission to Biltmore, breakfast daily (to die for), valet parking, gratuities, and a lovely soft cover book about the estate. There are other packages to choice from. It was SO beautiful & the view was unbelievable. The food was absolutely delicious. The staff was extremely helpful & very courteous. The veranda overlooking the Winery & the Pisgah Mountains was SO peaceful & serene that you could forget all your troubles. The pool & hot tub is outside & the view is just beautiful. Besides the estate, there is the Winery and the Gardens to visit also. I would easily return to the Inn at Biltmore for a terrific time.

The best hotel I've ever stayed in would have to be the Hilton Hawaiian Village. It has tons of shops around the grounds. It also has a show every Friday night with hula dancers and after the show a fireworks show on the beach. Words really can't describe how beatiful the grounds of the hotel are. If you can you have to visit this hotel at least once in your life. Its on the island of Oaho on Wikiki Beach.

The Broadmoor in Colorado Springs, CO was great- and Samantha's picture is hanging on their wall of fame.

They had the nicest staff of any place I've been.

The Greenbrier- in White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia - is the most Historical and luxuious hotel I have ever been to.

The Homestead - in Hotsprings, Virginia stunningly beautiful hotels I have been to.

The Hotel Roanoke - in Roanoke, Virginia is one of the most charming hotels I have been to. It's anything but small. And they are noted for their peanut soup and spoon bread. Smile
