On Federal Hill -- the hotel's fresh white echoes the white stucco architecture dotting Italy's Amalfi coast, but inside, the Villa is a stark ultra-modern vision in dazzling white, from ceiling to floor and wall-to-wall.

Housed in a former jewelers' building that now has a third story, the hotel offers one- and two-bedroom suites, each decked out with all-white Memphis-style sofas, whirlpool tubs, fireplaces, entertainment centers and kitchenettes.

At the rear is Villa Toscana, which was formerly owned by a Providence resident who used it as a cozy luxury home. It was reconfigured by the hotel owners as a private, two-story Tuscan-style minivilla with walled courtyard, patio and utter privacy for any visiting superstars.

Numerous restaurants and eateries are within walking distance.
