My husband and I visited the four star Hotel Heritage in Brugge (or Bruges) in Belgium. I travel a lot, and it is the first time ever that I find nothing to change in this 24room converted 1800's mansion. It was an old Belgian bank, and the hoteliers (a delightful married couple) have been running the place since 1993. I also think that Brugge is gorgeous not only because it is so excellently preserved as medieval town, but it is often called "Venice of the North" due to its romantic waterways. How can you go wrong with rich history and of course... chocolate and beer?!
