I AM GOING TO HAWAII IN JULY. I AM LOOKING FOR A NICE HOTEL IN HONOLULU, MAUI AND THE BIG ISLAND? IT WILL BE FOR MY HUSBAND & I AS WELL AS OUR TWO TEENAGE CHILDREN. ANY SUGGESTIONS?

AlohaThere is a very nice hotel that I stay at in Honolulu. It is the Pacific Beach Hotel: www.pacificbeachhotelhonolulu.com they have partial oceanview rooms (which I highly recommend, and adjoining rooms. It is right across the street from the beach (your teens will love that), and there is a restaurant called Cheeseburger in Paradise just across the street going towards Diamond Head.

I had a perfect hotel in Waikiki right in the heart of everything but they are renovating the whole area.. so i'm afraid that it's not possible. if money isnt an object- the royal hawaiian- pink palace is awesome- we had a luau there.

what kinds of activities are you going to be doing?

i recommend pearl harbor, dole pineapple plantation, hummer off road movie set tour, polynesian cultural center, luau at the royal hawaiian, blue hawaii elvis show and the don ho show, and the atlantis submarine trip. they were all awesome. i went with my husband for our 5 year anniversary 2004 september ago and it was the best time ever- we enjoyed everything and it was the most perfect vacation ever.

My husband and I and our 2 teenagers were in Hawaii last June. We were on Oahu, Maui and the Big Island. I would (and our kids) would highly recommend the Hilton Hawaiian Village in Honolulu. Close to Waikiki and a huge beach area! On the Big Island we stayed at the Hilton Waikoloa Resort. It was unbelievable! Huge property and very nice. But, very expensive! On Maui we stayed at the Westin Maui. Nice property, but small and rooms are too small for 4. I would suggest the Sheraton Maui on the cliff. Have fun!

Just got back from Hawaii myself. The Sheraton Princess Kaiulani in Waikiki is a favorite. Sheraton website offers great rates on pre-paid rates.

If you'd rather rent a house for a week, I'd suggest Hale Pali, or the Cliff House, just outside of Pahoa. I went with my parents last month and it was awesome. It's a gorgeous little house with a great view...the night before we left, we were blessed with a stunning sunset and a show by about five sea turtles swimming in the water practically in the backyard.
