Orlando was great! Sam seemed like she was back to her lovable old self. It was really neat to see that guy blowing glass and Sam seemed happy and genuinely interested in everything that was going on around her. It was cute to watch her trying on shoes too - every girl knows what that is like when you just can't resist picking up that extra pair.
I was kind of worried about the new series as I haven't liked any of the other shows, honestly. But Orlando was great. Sam didn't seem cocky like she did on the other ones and I felt like I was learning new things with her, which is why I like her so much. Also she did other things besides just eating and drinking in bars, which gets boring quick and isn't enriching in any way.
Good job in Orlando - keep it up!

Orlando and Myrtle Beach are the best 2 shows thus far in my opinion. They seemed much truer to the Samantha we all know and enjoy watching as she guides us around the globe. Cool

I have to agree with you. Orlando seemed like so much fun. It was a pleasure to watch this episode. I have complained about this new series being lackluster in other threads but I must give credit where credit is due. Orlando seemed very exciting. I've been there many times for business but I think I may make it a weekend getaway after seeing another side of the city. Thanks Sam!

I also agree that Orlando has been the best so far! I loved that wine bar she went to...what a great concept.

The Orlando episode was okay. At least Sam spent more time out around town. I did enjoy the segments at the Farmers market and the Soul Food restaurant.

Is it just me or does this show seem more catered towards woman?

The Orlando episode is the best of the new bunch. It actually made me want to check it out! The wine bar was awesome! I think it was a better balance of "new" Samantha and scripted Samantha.

And djariya, yeah I think it does seem a little bit aimed towards women and sometimes trying too hard to do so. I'm a 23 year old woman and if I see Samantha drool over shoes or dresses one more time, I will scream!

I live in Orlando, and I have to say that the bar that Samantha visited on Saturday night is nothing like it appeared to be on the show. NV is usually pitch black inside and almost completely empty even at midnight on a Saturday. Also, I noticed a complete lack of the paintings of nude women from various artists that usually grace the walls. I knew the owners of NV were worthy of mocking, but I never would have thought they'd be hypocritical enough to take the art off the walls for a television show. Frankly, I would have thought that they considered themselves above such things. I'm not just ranting about one bad experience. I've been there twice, and both times we waited at the bar for service for fifteen minutes, while the handful of regulars just walked up and got their drinks. They were nowhere near as open and friendly as they seemed on the show, but I guess anyone can mug for the camera. If you want to be treated like you are just not hip enough, then by all means, go to NV, but I know I'm never going back there, which is sad because it is totally my scene.

Oh, this is sooo funny. My family and I were in Orlando when Passport To Great Weekends Orlando aired. How funny is that? Missed the show because we were at Universal Studios Orlando all day. Looking forward to seeing this episode on reruns. Am looking for other things to do in Orlando besides DisneyWorld Resorts and other theme parks. I do have the AAA travel tour book on Florida. There are tons of others things to do in Orlando, but wanted to see what things Samantha would talk about. Looking forward to the reruns on this episode.

I would imagine this sort of thing happens often. When you see a TV personality and a crew with cameras I'm sure they put their best face on. So I guess the real question is which places are genuine as they appear on TV...or which ones are putting on a front? Interesting, and appreciated, to get your personal experience on NV.

There really wasn't as much for me in this episode (which is too bad - as we're planning another Orlando trip) - although I normally like SB. As a family traveller - and non-drinker, I was hoping for more family oriented activities. SB's focus on boozin' it up in this show wasn't really appealing for me. I thought for sure she was gonna yell, "HEY! Where can I get a beer around here!?" when at the farmer's market.

I understand there are probably others that love watchin' her drink and that's fine - just offering my subjective honest viewpoint. Lots of different types of people out there.

I've seen lots of farmer's markets - and didn't really catch the uniqueness of Winter Park's - aside from that fact that the vendors are okay with snitching - can't say I've ever walked up and sampled so much (didn't know that was kosher).

The soul food cafe & the blip on skydiving was mildly entertaining, imo - and would have loved more along those lines.

Hi, I just caughtthe Orlando show and have a crazy question. I saw Smantha try on a pair of shoes and am dyingto know where I could find them. They were a flat pair of thong sandals with a black or dark blue kiltie on the front...Any suggestions?
