Hmmm...very different. I won't say bad, just different. I'm gonna try not to judge, I mean she was in Vegas. I still laughed my *#% off. Can I say *#% now that Sammy B is allowed to on tv Wink

OMG.

Wow.

Big Grin

Ahaha well it certainly was Sam as I'd never seen her before. Yes, she was DEFINITELY in Vegas! Hahahaha I liked it. Very different... I have a feeling this show will be a mix. But she was in Vegas! She's allowed.

And Austin was good too. I'd love to go there.

Sam said @$$! And $#!+ ! Oh my. And I was taken aback when she was in Amsterdam... ^_^

Well I know that this new show will have mixed reviews, but for me, I give it an A+.

Why, oh why, can't I have her job?

Oh and does anyone know if that song about Sam saving them from the snow is available for purchase?

You would love Austin Cruiseluver!
I forgot to say something about the Broken Spoke.
Not to be missed if visiting Austin!
I was born in Austin, but grew up in other places around the country, but moved back to Austin in 1990. I really love living here!

Hi! I'm totally new to this board, but not to Samantha's shows! I quite enjoyed the "let-your-hair-down" Samantha! I've never wanted to go to Vegas or Austin, but Samantha made them seem like great places to visit!

Vegas and Austin are both great places to let your hair down! Everything for everyone, no matter what your taste is. Big choices for things to do!
I hope amylou, you do visit these places!

I can not understand how anyone who enjoyed the previous Samantha Brown shows can support this shabby and vulgar "re-branding'

TC has taken something unigue, decent and informative and transformed it into the kind of trashy "immersive" tv that Bourdain can get away with but which only serves to diminish Samantha.

Farewell.

Ah LPT, someone else up late with me!

Hmm that rhymed.

I'm still reeling from the Vegas episode. "Mine are real."

I was too tired last night after watching the shows to go online, but I certainly enjoyed them. Watching Samantha Brown is always an enjoyable experience for me. The only fault I have to find with the new shows is that they lack the polish they would’ve had if PineRidge Productions had done them.

Yes, you can definitely tell that it's not PineRidge. It seems like they're trying to take an Anthony Bourdain direction. Which isn't bad, necessarily, I mean, I enjoy his shows too, but... I dunno, Sam's always been different, and I hope they keep that. I'm excited for San Francisco next week!

Hey, and now we know about the tattoo! Henna... perfect. Not permanent, but it lasts a while. Feel better? Wink

Hey everyone!

I just watched the Vegas/Austin shows (DVR is my new best friend) and I LOVED them. I can see how others recognize a difference in this series of shows...Samantha does have a much more laid back approach and I like it! To me it showed more of her personality than in the more polished sophisticated series of Europe or LA.

And as a Texas girl, I was so happy that she visited a Texas city. I've been to Austin several times, and oddly enough it always involved traveling there to see a band! Had I of known she was walking the streets I would have traveled back. For the other fellow Texans/Austinites: KEEP AUSTIN WEIRD!

I hope the rest of you enjoyed it as much as I did. It seems kind of mixed, so lets see how next weeks shows go.

Is this the same Samantha Brown I've been watching over the years?

I'm normally put off by drastic changes, but I'm having fun watching this show. There's a younger energy and irreverent attitude that I definitely appreciate. I'm looking forward to the rest of the season.

I hope that we can see more in the towns she visits than just the bars. I don't mind going out for a drink while I'm on vacation, but one bar is usually as good as the next one IMHO.

I really like the new show so far. It's really fun! Very different. I have a feeling there will be shows like the Vegas ones and more low key ones. A mix.

Cheers! *holds up a bacon martini*

I agree bestugly. Once I got over the initial shock that Sam Brown curses (duh) I really enjoyed it. While I loved the classy way Sam approached Passport to ...it's fun to see her approach things a little differently. She's still the girl next door, but now she's the girl next door I would like to go out and have a drink with. I mean, it was only the first two episodes, and she was in Vegas...

I completely enjoyed watching all three episodes of Passport to Great Weekends last night. Samantha Brown seems to be much more comfortable and at ease with herself as well as with others and I really appreciate her sense of humor and ability to laugh and have fun. I look forward to enjoying future episodes.
