I am trying to keep the conversation in one place so please post your comments as a reply on the city thread instead of starting new topics. I have actually turned off new topics for now.
Thanks!

I am moving the other topics to the Samantha Central thread with link back here. I just want to keep it clean with comments on each episode. Thanks!

So, mod_ben is "Mr.Clean!" I'm glad you care so much about this site. How lucky we are to have you!
I know what it's like to be moderator. I was moderator on another forum for three years. I understand all the work it takes, and the time put into a good forum.
Just wanted you to know,
GREAT JOB!!

mod_ben, I'm just wondering why posts to the vegas/austin board have been moved out of sequence? It makes it harder to follow the thread.

I watched the Orlando Show and really enjoyed it. What a relief to see the Sam I enjoyed back after those first two weekend shows that were such a mess! I live near Orlando and was really glad to see that she showed the other side of Orlando- I would love to see her show off the art museums and other cultural offereings. and I wish she had shown us her room at the Bohemian Hotel! Cool
But mostly, i'm happy that Sam is Sam again!

Of course new topics has been turned off. God forbid anyone be able to offer an honest opinion without a controlling "moderator". I just wanted to offer a popular opinion not represented within any of these threads. "Passport to Europe" and the other shows hosted by Samantha reveal little of what is real and viable within the rich cultures outside the U.S. I hate seeing Samantha ordering room service in overpriced hotels, hiring personal tour guides, and basically advocating a hands off approach to traveling that would appeal to trust fund babies and spoiled brats. Who enjoys this show? Obviously some people do, but for my tastes, and the tastes of those around me, Samantha's shows are devoid of anything interesting or appealing. They remain sterile and uninteresting. Pull the plug!!!

Gee glen, doesn't your TV have an off-on switch. Don't torture yourself by watching something you hate. And then don't log on to the web site to complain about it. Nobody is forcing you to watch. Maybe you should get your own show and leave Samantha alone.

You make a good point. I guess I've only seen the show when it's sandwiched between "No Reservations", which is an excellent program. Perhaps it's just the contrast between someone who strives to show the fascinating underbelly of other cultures and one who is bankrolled and detests anything but comfort and luxury that is so irritating. I'll work on getting my own show...

Sometime ago, Sam post on this forum, that she wants to hear both sides!

I hardly think she wants to be called a trust-fund baby and a spoiled brat. That's inflamatory and derogatory and uncalled-for on a travel forum.

The way I read it was that Glen said the show "appealed" to the trust fund babies and spoiled brats. Not calling Sam that. Maybe I need to re read Glen's post to see if I'm remembering wrong.
If he said the show appealed to that kind, I don't agree with that. After all, we, on this forum, are not trust fund babies or spoiled brats, and we watch Sam's shows. I have mixed feelings about Weekend Getaways, but I never would speak crudely about Sam and her fans! If he did say Sam is a trust fund baby herself, that is so wrong! She was not brought up in a wealthy family. Even if she were, that wouldn't make her a spoiled brat!
But true nunesy, I know Sam meant to give both sides to her shows in a tasteful manner. And thank you for bringing up my glitch. I should have read through the post more carefully.

If you are sick of Samantha, why do you hang around her forum? Nobody has put a gun to your head and made you watch her. Please go somewhere else and complain. It is a free country you know.

Gosh, I hope your post wasn't meant for me! I was really defending Sam!!! I did say I need to re-read Glen's post. It was only a misunderstanding and that is not a sin. I'm not sick of Samantha at all! I missed two of her shows, and I feel badly about that, and hope to catch re-runs. I did say that I have mixed feelings about "Weekend getaways" but that does not mean I'm sick of her!! If you did mean me, you figured me all wrong!!! I even said Sam is not a trust fund baby, and that she is from a middle class family! Maybe you need to re-read my post if your post was meant for me!
