We just got back from the big island just last Monday, and actaully saw the commercial for this special while in Hawaii; we had just seen the exact same luau the night before!! Anyway, one thing Samantha didn't do on the show, which was by far the most awesome thing we did, was to snorkel/dive with the Manta Rays!!! It was incredible, and I was curious while she didn't do that on the show?
Samantha has had more than a few on-camera experiences swimming with sea life, including rays in the Cayman Islands, I think. She has often expressed that it is not one of her favorite things to do. However, Samantha does kindly share her more personal experiences with five friendly-faced manta rays in her Big Island blog. Maybe they are the same ones you got to know.
This gives me the opportunity to say thanks, Samantha, for sharing your memories and genuine feelings with us again this season through your blogs. They are fun to read, and give added depth to our experience of traveling along.
Our family really enjoyed the Hawaii Weekend. You seemed so happy there. The helicopter tour was a visual highlight, as was the sunset from Mauna Kea. Well done. You must know I loved your hat. Your stylist, Christina, is once again doing a great job this season, and I am impressed with the new Sam Glam feature, especially Going Green in Hawaii and “Samantha’s closet!” Holy cow. She is amazing. But in the future, please tell Christina I said she should pack you some stylish goggles to put on when using ancient tools to hack away at outrigger canoes. And comfortable dancing shoes, too. And helmets for ice rinks.

I too am so glad Samantha is blogging again. Last season when it became very crew blog heavy, I missed Sam's personal insight. Please keep these going.

Haven't been on this board in awhile, but I caught this episode last night on DVR and let me just say that this show is so much better now than last season. I like that the show is more focused on doing fun actitivities in the limited time Sam has available, which is the whole point of the show than her drinking and going to fine dining establishments. The new opening credits were really snazzy and Sam looks really beautiful as usual. Looking forward to the next installment.
