Hello to everyone visiting after tonight's shows. Let us know what you thought. You can also check out Sam's most recent blogs on San Fran and Miami! Click here to read the new blogs.
I was excited about her SF. show. I was disappointed in the show. Always love Sam, but if I were to go to SF again (it's been years since I've been there) I would want to see the beautiful sights. Not just eating and drinking all day. SF is one of the most beautiful cities in the world, and would like to spend my weekend seeing some things. You don't have to go far from home to go out to eat and drink. Why bother to travel at all if that's all you were going to do! Eating is a big part of a trip for some people, but the show didn't give any ideas on what to see. At least in her Austin show, she was showing us Barton Springs pool and the bats on Congress Bridge. I wish she could have showed us a few sights in SF!
I thought the episode was just okay. For a 3 day weekend, I thought Sam spent more time drinking and having fine dining than actually using the time to enjoy the sites and sounds of the city.
The segment in Chinatown was kinda cool, but overall her experience there left me unsatisfied. I really didn't get a true sense of the atmosphere, the food, the sites.
I realize 22 minutes is not alot of time to cover a city, but I think the producers could have done a better job.
I was extremely excited to see some beautiful sights of San Francisco. Who goes there to eat and drink? Sam, you should've focused on the Golden Gate Bridge, Fisherman's Wharf, Lombard Street, and a cable car. Please, in the future, talk more about sights and less about food and booze. This show is starting to disappoint. I enjoy all of your other shows.
I am really disappointed in the new show. In the previous shows she was intelligent and had class. Too bad. You did have a wining formula when you allowed her to be a "lady" with class.
Another disappointed viewer seeing this for the first time tonight. My whole family was really irritated at the content through the entire program. If we wanted to watch shows about food (and we do!) we'd take Bourdain or Andrew Zimmern elsewhere.
Like was said above, San Francisco is just an absolutely gorgeous city. You could have gone to the Japanese gardens, Japantown, the Golden Gate bridge, Alcatraz, visited Pier 39, any number of other things. Heck, even the Virgin Megastore and Sony's Metreon would have been better than this!
I've only seen a couple episodes of this new Passport series, but every single one has been disappointing enough to register here and comment on. Very depressing.
