Sorry for my previous posting about this episode. I have updated the post. Some of you were asking about future episodes of Passport to Great Weekends. I am pretty sure there are more episodes coming up but I see the current schedule is through the 10th. I will post when the schedule gets updated for the future episodes. mod_ben
I've always been a fan of Samantha Brown, enjoying the places she visits and the wholesome way she shares her adventures with all of her viewers. Her programs have always been family friendly; but these new programs are a great disappointment to me. Passport to Great Weekends are increasingly more risque than her previous shows, especially this program about Washington, D.C. I turned it on for a few minutes and had to turn it off because watching a bunch of cross-dressers is not my idea of entertainment. This is not the type of programming I would ever have expected from the Travel Channel and certainly not Samantha Brown. I've noticed that each of the Passport to Great Weekends progressively seem to be more and more offensive. I think I will just watch reruns from her former Passport shows or just stop watching all together.
I have been purposely avoiding the Washington DC topic, but I'd rather keep the forums active. As soon as I saw the cross dresser segment I expected a TON of negative comments about it. Personally, I thought it was hilarious and a lot of fun. However, I'm glad melodie38257 (the previous poster) did the mature thing and simply turned the TV off. It is way more refreshing to read an opinion like that than one that bashes Samantha.
As far as the episode goes, it was a little lack luster than the others. I think my favorite part was the unique market.
Hey Samantha I enjoyed watching the DC episode it was funny when you whent into that resturant so anyway I hope to see more of your shows thanks and I hope you get this message too
Although I've very much enjoyed Samantha's previous shows, I feel compelled to make a negative comment about this particular show.
As far as the cross dressers go, whatever floats your boat, as they say. However, using our National Anthem like that I believe shows a blatant lack of respect and proper protocol. Shame on the Travel Channel for promoting a place that has to succumb themselves to such low standards for the sake of 'entertaining.'
