Thailand’s northern mountainous region has lots of great adventures and places to say, but the best by far i’d say, is in Chiang Mai. Here, the Lanna culture is very rich and very much alive, with their own dialect and culture. To Thais, its known that Chiang Mai is a very laid back, relaxed city so you can expect that type of atmosphere when you’re there.

I found this interesting and unique place to stay in the northern city of Chiang Mai, which gives you this unique traditional, almost primitive feeling because this place is partially made out of mud: this place is called: “Scorpion Tailed Boat Village”. There’s also a special promotion being offered if you stay for 5 nights which it’s only for $120 for two person per room.

Obviously, the price is very affordable because you’re not staying in a posh room but a very down to earth, and traditional room. It’s great for those adventurous ones who like to enjoy nature and travel on the different mountaintops of Chiang Mai. The location of the Mud House is, it’s very close to the airport and the city as well, so everything is very accessible.

I would highly suggest this place for those of you heading up north to Chiang Mai and have a limited budget and/or if you’re not very serious about staying at a top notch place and just need a place to sleep.
This place can be found at this site  http://amazingthailand.tourismthailand.org/ with the promotions and rates available on it as well.

Also, the Scorpion Tail Boat Village is next to the famous River Ping where it’s very quiet, country house-style!

Enjoy!
