While I am sure the WPT believes the action clockwill add added excitement to the game, I argue that it decreases the tension by forcing players to make rash judgements about their hand. I believe the constant reminders to the players and loud beeping clock distracts viewers from the truely suspenseful portions of the tournaments. Please discontinue the Action Clock in its current incarnation. If the Action Clock accomedates the needs of TV, please make the Action Clock less promenant than it currently is. I have watched every single WPT event. Although I am sure the Clock is well-intentioned, please discontinue or de-emphasize the element. The announcers do feel disingenuous when they praise the feature.

I love the World Poker Tour, this action clock is going to ruin a great show- Please. please, please somebody get them to get rid of this stupid thing, it ruins the game.

I couldn't believe it when I saw it on the game Super Bowl Sunday. I was hoping it was just a dumb idea to try and tie it into the sports theme, and that it will quickly go away after that.

That is part of the fun and skill of poker - analyzing and taking your time on some of those big calls.

I wholeheartedly agree. The "action clock" is a horrible thing to do to poker. I'd much prefer to watch them play the game as it was intended. This shot-clock thing HAS to go!

Today (December 31st 2005) was the first time I saw the infamous action clock in action. I too think that it must go! If there was a way to contact the producers of WPT I would tell them the same. There already is a clock mechanism for players who take to long -- let's just stick with that.
