Is there any way to spot trick dealing besides looking at the bottom card? Is there any techniques that could be learn in trickdealing instead of the bottom deal?

I don't want to come off like some hussler or anything, but I know a thing or two about stacking the deck and such. After I saw Rounders for the first time, I thought cheating was the way to go...it's definetly not! Nothing terrible happened, but it's a lot more fun playing the cards the deck gives you rather than what you give yourself. On to your quesetion, 1.watch abnormal concentration on the deck when someone is shuffling cards. 2.Avoiding letting others cut the deck prior to the deal. 3.Licking fingers to get a better grip on the bottom cards. 4.Obviously "hanger's" - when a card or two suddenly is sticking out off the bottom of the deck. 5.Just watch for things that strike you as odd when someone you don't know deals, if you think it's a little iffy keep on eye on the hands that guy gets when he deals - be a good detective, you don't want to make false accusations but you also don't want to get played. As for other ways besides dealing off the bottom of the deck, I was never able to find another way. Hope I helped.

Uhm, play in a casino or a card room and you don't have to worry about it, cheat in a home game, and I hope you get your A S S kicked...

Cutting the deck and using a "cut" card on the bottom helps emilinate and fast fingered dealing. That is also why there is a burn card between each community card. It eliminated players "reading" the next card if marked. You should study up about stacking the decks etc if your serious about playing just to protect yourself. ps. donlt play with any dealer who picks up the cards in the inverse order of who won. It leaves the winner cards on the top adn a correct shuffle/cut can direct the cards to his choice of players. Cards should always be mixed on th table then shuffled.
