I am planning to visit Prague this coming November...mid-late November. Does anyone know what kind of weather I can expect around that time of year? I read in one guide book that Fall/Autumn weather is about 60-70 degrees F. But later found out that the book must be referring to early Fall/Autumn because many people have told me that is much colder than that. So with that said, has anyone been to Prague in November? Am I going to be get able to wing it wearing several thin layers and a blazer, and throw on a scarf? Or am I going to need a good sweater and coat? Also, does it snow around November and is November still a good time to go to Prague? Sorry for the long the post, it's going to be my first time in Prague. Thanks!
My husband and I have spent the past 4 years in Prague, the end of Nov-first of Dec. We like the Christmas markets. One of our favorite memories was watching the Christmas tree being lit in Old Town Square. That said, the weather is alot like the American midwest that time of year. I wear a raincoat with lining, gloves, scarf, hat, insulated boots. Sometimes there is rain, or snow or warm sunshine. We have walked everywhere including walking up to the top of Petrin Park. We usually stay in Prague 5 and have even walked to Vysgrad from our hotel. The hot spiced wine is really good at curing the coldness. Metro system is wonderful and efficient and also good for ducking the rain! Enjoy one of our favorite cities!!
I was in Prague in November 6,7 2007. I wouldn't suggest it to anyone. I used to live in Michigan, and I don't remember ever being as cold as I was in Prague! Very windy, rainy and BRRR cold! Never again I'll ever go to Prague in November. Spring or summer yes! Prague is very beautiful and worth visiting, but the weather in November was horrible! When I left Prague by train, the train was very cold! The heater must have been broken. If you still go there in November, dress well for the cold. That was my big mistake. You need to bring long under wear and really dress in the warmest clothes you have. Bundle up!!
Thanks guys! November is pretty much the time we can travel because my husband can only get time off then. And it's too late to request time off in October. I was thinking that October would be the perfect time to go! But anyways, we are still planning the vacation and haven't booked anything yet. We shall see what happens! Thanks again for the replies!
Well, I will point out a positive side to going to Prague in November. The fall leaves are stunning, and I took such wonderful fall pictures of the castles. Just dress warmly, and you will be fine. Remember, long underwear!!
