Andrew- In the 80's I watched a sort of weird movie about different cultures and foods that they consider delicasses. One of the clips that was on this movie was 'live monkey brains'. They were in some 3rd world country, and there was a bunch of people around a round table. The table had a hole in the middle of it. A live money then had his head placed up through the hole with his body beneith the table. The monkey was held around the neck by the table and was unable to get free, so in his terror- all he could so was spin. All of the guests at the table then took small hammers and began hitting the screaming monkey, until peices of his skull started to break- at which time the people would grab and pull the bloody brain splashed skull peices in order to scoop more brains and eat them hot off the skull fragments. I want to know if anyone has ever heard of this- and if you would try to eat this? It sounds inhumane to us- but they did consider this a great gift for their guests at the time.

The video you speak of is Titled "Faces of Death"......I have some hesitations concerning the authenticity of many of the scenes... in particular the scene in which the cannibalistic action takes place.....but the bottom line is people of many cultures do partake of many items that are outside the "norm" for our society....
I doubt that I would eat it raw and fresh, maybe fried with a side of fries????

That is a horrible scene that I imagine haunts most people who see it. I believe this was somewhere in China. I think it is still practiced but not very common. mod_ben

What you describe is a scene from one of the Indiana Jones movies. Of course, it may have also been in 'Mondo Cane,' which did take a look around the world

Definitely from "Faces of Death"... If that's not considered animal cruelty, nothing is.
