I have to state that I am not an animal activist, but after seeing Andrew Zimmern eating a beating frog's heart (after the beautiful animal was graphically skinned) in one of the Japan segments, I have decided to permanently block the travel channel from my cable line-up. Perhaps this behavior is commonplace in certain countries, but I am thoroughly repulsed with the Travel Channel's vile depiction of animal deaths and barbarism all in the name of stimulating viewership. Seeing Mantis Shrimp writhing in agony in a frying pan on another show was another sin I can remember. You guys have crossed the line of decorum and good taste, and I am finished with you.

I loved the survival program. I am encouraged to see an endomorph like me survive, vs all those macho special forces elite types

first off.. KFC tortures their animals. what andrew zimmern does is try and teach others about different cultures by means of sharing food.. you have opened an age old argument of ethics. What is acceptable in some counties may not be in others. what i think you fail to realize is that most of these foods were brought out of necessity. and unlike us americans who seem to be able to waste everything, those people use just about everything on an animal. did you watch the episode where he ate kabobs of different chicken parts in japan? they use everything! even the reproductive organs. and the point of the travel channel is to show you what goes on in other countries. id like to see you eat anyone of the types of food that people in other countries eat. you jump to conclusions my friend. its not barbarism for stimulating viewers. its a way to learn about others.. i dont believe in torturing animals. but i do believe in eating them! as long as you show respect and eat every part that you can. none of the animals go to waste. unlike when you eat your hamburger from McDonalds or chicken from KFC. you want to know vile? look up peta and watch animals skinned alive JUST FOR THEIR FUR! nothing else but that. thats vile. eating an animal that will not go to waste.. thats not vile. to me thats honorable..
