Heading to the Galapagos Islands and possibly the Amazon at the beginning of the year. Has anyone made the journey? How was it?

My wife and I were in the Galapagos in 2002. We traveled with Lindblad Expeditions which provided not only a visually oriented trip but an educational experience. Most of there naturalists held advanced degrees. We've traveled twice with Lindblad since then...while pricey, they are at the top of the game when it comes to natural exploration. We were there in May when the Frigate Birds were in courtship (the males possessing huge red sacks under their "chin") and the Waved Albatross had arrived as well! One of the highlights was encountering a pod of between 300 and 400 dolphins...the zodiacs were launched immediately and we got to see them upclose and personal.

A friend of mine recently went to the Galapagos through Lindblad and she had an amazing time. She managed to get a lot of great shots in. http://www.collidingcontinents.com/2007/12/expedition-honeymoon.html
