We were in Melbourne in Feb. 2008 and found it
to be very bland food. Chips/fries everywhere.
It takes awhile to find out what it good and we
felt the locals were the best to pass that on.
Hamburgers are not the same as in the USA. If
you try fast foods, even that tastes different.
But you did not come to eat the same way, right?
We enjoyed driving the coast line from Sydney to Melbourne and would highly recommend it to any travlers. We rented a car and found it a great experience and staying on the correct side of the road is a challenge. The weather
was wonderful in Feb., opposite seasons, warm.
The people were polite but not over friendly. A
few had their minds made up before meeting us.
The students have more to say/questions we felt.
We drove in the bushland and saw wildlife and we felt the small town folks were more friendly.
We found internet at the hotels/coffee shops.
They do not use much sugar in desserts and do not expect the same breakfast foods. They put on
toast the oddest items, like beans & noodles!!!
I loved Ginger Beer. I'd take home a case!!!! Don't hesitate, travel. Just go see the world!
