My favorite beach is Sapphire Beach on the island of Ambergris Caye, Belize. One of the things that makes Ambergris unique is that the barrier reef just offshore protects the beach from large waves. This makes swimming, diving, snorkeling, kayaking, fishing, wind surfing, and more very pleasant (not so good if you are into surfing). Hearing the waves crash on the reef offshore is one of the most relaxing sounds you can imagine.
