I in general completely enjoyed the last show. but iwas othered by the way terms such as crazy were tossed about by every one. When connected to any imp;ication of mental illness the term still has powerful negative meanings. those people, and remember they ALL were people, who were inmates at that facility especially in the late 1800s and early 1900s were not always were they would get the care they needed. Women were often diagnose as crazy or "hysterical" who may have had other health problems. Any one odd or "different" could be declared insane. And mentally retarded children were not always sent to state schools, but may have been placed in asylums instead. Even as late as the mid-50s or 60s some one who had an acute breakdown, which did not quickly improve would be shuttled off to more remote units and tthan maybe forgotten. I just wished the team, had in someway been a bit more respectful of these peoples pain and there memories.
I agree with you. They could have been more sensitive under the circumstances. Their enthusiasm and excitement sometimes gets the better of them, I think. Very well said!
