We went to Alaska on an Elderhostel Cruise program that was fantastic. We were with very educated, bright individuals who were eager to learn about the Alaska waterways and the cities along it. We went to Juneau, Sitka, Skagway and Ketchikan. We explored Alaska's breathtaking scenery, marine life, history and native culture. We watched for marine, avian and terrestrial wildlife as we voyaged across a portion of the Gulf of Alaska through deep fjords and among forest-covered islands. Along the way, our local experts immerse us in Alaska's culture and history, its magnificent biology, marine life, ecology, glacial geology and more. Were were aboard the one of the Holland American boats. Designed to carry fewer guests than many other participants, our cabins had air-conditioning and private bathroom with shower. We have been on the Queen Mary and believe it or not, this boat was more personal and comfortable. Fantastic trip followed by a land cruise that was even more wonderful. Sharon and Izzy
